My mate Bob just sold his MK2 127 the other week.It was a minter with just 16000 miles on the clock.A guy from the south to buy it.The 127 was a cracking little car the only thing was they disolved before your eyes like all the fiats we know and love.Oh eye he has a 128 lowered no interior or bumpers and an x/19 1500 engine in it.Goes like stink.Oh yes and its purple!
-
I actually really like the x1/9, not many of them about now days, you can get them reasonably cheap though, but i have heard panels and doors can go upto ?400-500, was in a classic car magazine, some lad my age was restoring one into an abarth.
i also really like 127's now

wow its a fiat! i thought it was going to be a VW.only 903cc? must be slow? im shocked actauly not much bigger than a BIS engine?
will you be bidding on it?
Chris
-
AWE MAGIC.Absolutely mint it would be cool as frier tuck to tour around Europe in an Amigo camper  And what about the mk1 Firorino van cool man :P
-
I remember years ago there were loads of these around but not any more, dwindling away like all the great Fiats!
I would like to know more information on the engine and gerbox set up? It's a rear engine set up so is it similar to the 126 setup?
A transplant is come into mind!

No mate the 127 was fiats fiest venture with front wheel drive and transversley mounted engine and gearbox. It was fitted previously fitted in the autobianchi primula in the mid sixties to judge customer reaction before the fiat badge was fitted.God im sad!!!!!!!!
-
Heres another fact. The guy who designed the 127,I think his name was Pio Muzzi was killed on his way to the cars launch while driving from Rome to Turin in his 500.I really am an anorak.
-
sorry for the confusion!
I was on about maxlee's post reffering to the Fiat Pandora Campavan motor and gearbox

I thought the 128 was Fiats first front drice car? Came out in I think 1969.
-
yes Paul, i think i have read that in my fiat history book! was he testing the 500? and he had a head on with a lorry! terrible! what puts my mind at ease is knowing how those italians drive  Hopefully if we all take it easy and keep the spare wheel in the front, we should be ok :D
regards
Chris
-
Your right Chris the spare up front must have been a primative form of air bag system eh?
-
Your right fiatfsm 128 was first :D same layout as 127.Great little chuckable cars.127 and 128 are rare as hens teeth over here(as are all seventies fiats)they used to assemble them in Cork.
-
camper van went for over 2k good really as it is like new i would have given a grand for it but dont have 2 :(
-
well who ever has paid that, im sure its gone to a good home! might even see it at a few shows! hopefully they will join the fiat GB Club!
i find it incredible how you get mints like these still about afer all thsoe years! its not as though you can just forget about a camper van in your garage
