Title: Fog and reverse light requirements
Post by: ciaoflyer on February 15, 2007, 10:46:14 AM
Hi
Have fitted chrome bumpers to my Bis but now nowhere to mount Fog and Reverse lights.  Are these required by law do I have to fit them or leave them off, I don't think you need a Reverse light but not sure on the fog.

cheers

Found this...................

"According the the Tester’s manual a rear fog lamp is only mandatory for vehicles “first used on or after 1 April 1980.”

make some small brackets and mount them under the bumper on the rear panel that way they are in place but not visable up close but still do their job.

reverse lamp is not a legal requirement, but i would recoment it; at night it gives a bit of light behind, enough to see where you are going and it also warns drivers behind you wish to reverse.
