Title: twin Headlamp replacement

Hi, i picked up a pair of these universal motorcycle headlamps a few months ago the cost for the pair was 36 quid, they measure 180x110x 130 deep which is very near the size of the 126 headlights, they use 2x25w twin element bulbs in each unit but can be upgraded to hologen using the philips replacements.

thats pukka i hope the light emitted is better than the poor beam from the originals. how much were they and from where did you get them, can you let us know how you get on with fitting them.

Surely once these are fitted the main beam will be on the same side of both?  so it might look a little odd when dipped only the left side bulb is lit on both sides?
I know you could fit the other light upside down but that would point a beam into the sky....

Or have I missed something?

I just posted this as an idea. both bulbs light up on dip or main beam in the same unit, but i don't know if they would be MOT road legal for a car as they are motorcycle units, they would need a small bezel making as they are slightly smaller than the original units. but as i said it was just an idea and its amazing what you can do with photoshop.

Looks really cool though.... I wonder if there is a way of doing a conversion that will work?

i found by lighting candles as i drive and sticking them on the dashboard that i could see past the bonnet which is further than ive ever seen before unfortunately night driving in a 126 is like driving using night vision goggles with no batteries... :cool:

i wonder if australia has stricter standards then, because when my friend and i drove on our big cross country trip, we did most of our driving at night, and high beam was perfectly satisfactory, we could see plenty. and we even had plastic "NIKI" clip on lenses attached.

like you said you drove using high beam , if we did this in the uk we would have about 300 people to fight ! you have lots of country and no people , we have no country and lots of people.

haha, yes, but low beam wasnt ueless either. my morris 1100 is far worse.
