Title: engine mounts

i have found that the engine mount spring i replaced about 4 months ago has broken , i stole it out of my old bis as the original was in bits. is there a history of these spring breaking as i know of lots of cars having broken springs ? also is there a stronger spring available? if not i shall go and look at motor bike springs and cut one down.

mick,bis spring is diff to aircooled................and yes,nanni do a harder one.i have one in my a/c,the car now jumps around at idle with the engine!!

yeah i know they are different but when its all you have at the time you chuck it in , and i would have thought the bis to be more heavy duty. i am a tight wad and so have ordered 4 springs from a gerst , i aint getting a hardenned one . i will b*******ise a beefier spring if i need to.
