 What are the likely candidates for a Bis that is a pain to start? The choke was not working but it is fixed now, so I know it is not that. The car never starts first attempt, but might just fire up on the second after turning it over and listen to it struggle. If it fires up, it usually dies and then will be off the next time if I get my foot on the accelerator and rev it! I am very sad as I am losing confidence in it. When it is off, it's fine and zooms about like nobody's business - even nearly reaching top speed, without having to go downhill.
Any suggestions are welcome.

it sounds like you are either not getting enough fuel or its flooding . when you start the car do you press down the clutch? this is a must on the 126.if it starts up like that ok dont worry about what i first said. if it does not look at your fuel supply. also another factor could be is your battery fully caharged as its important that the starter motor is spinning at its proper speed to get going.hope it helps mick
