Hi,
Since I got my custom exhaust made for the 126 its been a bugger to start and its abit rubbish on the bottom end of speed but great on top end.
I think ive lost too much backpressure and Im looking to get some back any ideas?

mmmnnn.......lack of back pressurer shouldnt make it hard to start.............i reckon thats coincidence............lack of low down power, that could be somthing to do with the hard starting.....have you gone through all the normal checks?points etc?......welcome to the uncertain/one-thing-leads-to-another world of tuning utters
bike tuners have baffle sets that can be added to straight pipes....look on ebay under harley pipes, i saw some the other nite..............

Hi,
Ive had a new set of points put in, one thing I did notice was put the choke at half and it starts better than at full? Maybe that bit of air helps it start?
But if i start the car, turn it off then try the start the car again it fires right away!
Wish it would just stop all together that way theres somthing to work at.

get the points and timing checked. If the points gap are set differently from the previous points you will find that there will be a change with your ignition timing settings.
-
Checked all that.. timing is spot on, and the ignition has been changed to but did nothing :(
-
Could it be any of these:
Start motor?
Coil?
Condenser?
Also my clutch cable seems to long for the car, are the BIS ones different to the 500 / 126 aircooleds?
-
if you start tuneing/modding a motor, you need to keep/make bench marks, your bis may have an ailment caused by ragging it after fitting the exhaust, sometimes you need ''regression therapy''.....that means, put the old exhaust on/remove last mod and see whats what.
but, from what your describing id say its nowt to do with your new pipe...if you have been hooning around the carb might be full of stirred up pooe etc.......lots of things can cause the probs you dscribe..............
think about the last time your car ran well, then ponder on what you've done since...............dont poke anything till you've thought it thro.......otherwise you'll just muddy the waters further
-
failing the above advice,i'll get my tame super intelligent inter gallactic friend to come an have a look.............he might exterminate the car tho
-
The danm thing wont start at all now and im stuck at work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ARGH!!!!!
-
ahrg....sorry to hear that...........but at least you will now find the problem........
