Hi everyone,
Could anyone tell me what fuel is best to run a 1987 650 Air Cooled Fiat 126?
My 126 has developed a tin rattling sound, coming from around the alternator area. Is this a common fault? Does anyone have any advice on how to fix it?
Thanks,
Richard

hi richard, welcome to the best 126 site going!.
the ''tin rattling'' sound maybe loose bolts around the tin work......or else where, these little motors do vibrate a lot, have a good check around and nip up any bolts etc you can find, but it may be connected to your fuel question.......are you sure its not a pinking/detonating /pre ignition fault?.
the a/cooled needs leaded,or you need to add some lead additive, they are also very timing sensitive..........im sure others on here will contribute to solve your problem.........

welcome to the forum Richard, ive heard a few people ask this question about rattling in that area, i think it could be a worn alternator? or it could be a lose airfilter in the housing.
With regard to fuel, unleaded is ok, if you dont go mad, and if you put CASTROL VALVE MASTER in about £10er a pot.
Kind regards
