http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190015102427&sspagename=ADME:B:AAQ:UK:1

This is the aircooled I bought.  My plan is to add pictures as I slowly do the car up.

Will post with better pics today, so far I haven't done anything to her, only been amazed how it passed it's MOT with the engine mount spring at the back totally missing and nearside brake not working at all. Dodgy steering all over the place.

My plans are simple as I said before.

Chrome bumpers,wipers,mirrors, locks,headlight surrounds.

Lower suspension. 126 Alloys 'or' front disks.
Respray british racing green with stripes up and over the roof.
roll cage. new interior. Engine service (only done 34,000Kms). Sort out steering and brakes. Not in that order. :???:
Finished.

starting at the back and working forward. (I have a very small garage)

Very dirty engine

Engine lid needs TLC, too much muck.

Shouldn't there be more rubber and a whole spring?

Rust at the bottom of the rear window, surely not

Last owner had a wierd sense of humour.

Now time to set to work!!

Plan is just to give the engine a good service for now. And get it 100% healthy.
Get rid of some of the muck.
the thingy top left in the engine bay is the horn. A bit big though. When I use the horn I will need to recharge the battery.

Had a little time in the garage today, started on a couple of quick jobs.

Door panels were a scruffy with speaker holes.

Removed panels, window winder mech and locks greased.

Cleared all the crap out of the bottom of the doors, Hope it will reduce the chance of rust.

Opened up the little drainage holes X3

Remember!! Don't drop this clip or you spend ages looking for it  in the grass. (Like me :???: ).

Removed the platic clips that broke removing the panel.

Fit new ones to the New Panels (Panels about £7 pair in Poland)

Hey Presto!! Pretty door.

That is not rust on the door bottom it's spray waxy stuff to seal and conserve (don't know the English name for it  )

Next job. Hazy speedo. This is a problem on most old type 126 clocks.

Remove the clock 2 screws, inclip 2 plugs and enscrew the speedo cable.
Turn the clock over undo 2 screws and open. Remove the plastic. Get glass or perspex cut to the same size. (mine was about £2 Poland again)

Here is the difference
(http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y284/dajwid/PICT3459.jpg)

Refit.

Job Done now you can see how slow your car really is:-)

I know!!
glass!! Safety!!  What if I crash and the speedo sticks in my face?

 Looks better though.
