Title: flying spark plug

so, I was driving past a cemetary yesterday and I heard a loud bang in the back of my car, when I went to investigate I found that the spark plug had shot out of the cylnder head.  I tried to replace it, but when it left the engine it apparently took the threads with it.  I've never seen anything like this, does anyone have any ideas on how to re-thread the cylender head to get a spark back in there?

Any help would be appreciated

any good engine shop should be able to fit a heli-coil into the existing hole which will allow you to then replace you spark plug..

used to be a very common problem with 2 stroke motorbikes; they used plugs with shorter threads and had to be taken out a lot the clean, so the alloy heads used to get damaged quite often. the fix actually makes things better because steel bolts in alloy often a recipy for disaster.
