Title: ...oil change... ?
Post by: green-fly on June 15, 2005, 01:19:58 PM
hi all,

just before i get my hands dirty- is the oil change straightforward on the early cars, (no oil filter apparently!!)  shows how newbie i am!

i've ordered a load of service parts from Ricambio (?40 inc postage-cap,points,rotor,air filter, plugs and seals..thought that was ok)?

So any basic servicing advice appreciated

thanks a lot
B

Over here would have been about 10-15 inc postage.
If you need any bits in the future drop me a line.

There is an oil filter on the 126's it's a centrifugal type which just needs  dismantling and cleaning, use a 20/50 oil of a good make and you should be ok
One service item on the 126 which is a must is greasing of the kingpins! Worth investing on a haynes manual to explain it all, there are usually a few going on ebay.

Chris
yes the bis is the same boat!
They also need a good greasing to stop them from wearing out.
