Title: Heat shield
Post by: gt alex on November 29, 2022, 03:18:37 AM
Evolution of a heat shield I hope will fix the hot start problems.
Just waiting for the paint to dry. I painted it white under and red on top.
It slips under the edge of the standard Bakelite  spacer and uses existing fittings to secure.
It hopefully will stop fuel overheating in the carb when parked hot.
I am guessing it will only need one on the cabin side.

Installed not tested yet.
I have been driving with the engine lid open the last week and I do think helps overall heat in the engine bay, but, for test purposes I will drive the next week with the lid closed.
Open is much better but after a long hard drive between 90-100kph and running great it still suffered heat soak after parking 10 minutes and I had to wait 20min before it started and ran sweet again all the way home another 100km.
