Title: Side repeaters - how to remove
Post by: Minijohn on July 03, 2022, 10:11:34 AM
I have the later circular side repeaters which I want to remove for a respray.
Anyone know how to remove them?
Thanks

The ones on my car are a different shape but basically they just slide back and pop out from memory.

Thanks for the reply.
I've found some new ones on ebay...

and it appears they have 2 spring clips, but I can't see how to compress them both.
They're not very expensive so I might as well just break the old ones and buy new - I would prefer clear lenses anyway !!

I don’tthink that they need compressing, Ithink you just slide the side repeater in and they click into place and then slide it out and they release.

Thanks for the reply.
I figured it out - if you remove the coloured lens, the hole in the wing can be seen to have small notches at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions.
A small screwdriver through that notch can be used to push one tab towards the centre and then with a bit of a twist it can be inserted at the other side.

In the end I was prepared to be quite brutal as I've already ordered a new pair with clear lenses....now I have some spares
