Title: Starting problems.

126 bis cranking OK but refuses to start.Have had recent new cylinder head gasket,overhauled the carb,new plugs,points,condensor.One plug wet.On the occasions when I have just about got it started it runs and starts well all day but plenty of white smoke from exhaust until it engine reaches temperature. Any advice welcomed!

Have you re-torqued the head, and did you have the head skimmed and pressure tested

The head was skimmed and generally overhauled. It was professionally fitted. The car runs great when I have managed to get it going in recent weeks but at the moment all it is doing is turning without firing.

It's steam coming out of the exhaust, do a compression test
