Can anyone tell me if i can get cover insurance just to get me a mile up the road for the MOT??? is this possible? just to be insured for my MOt appointment?
kind regards, appreciate ny help on his matter

Chris,
As far as I am aware insurance isn't necessary as long as the car in question is being driven directly to a pre arranged MOT appointment.
Once you have the MOT you then insure & Tax, as obviously you can't insure & Tax without an MOT (if it's over 3 years old of course....)
Again this is how I have always understood it.
Hope it helps

I think you are wrong with the no insurance for the mot testing! You are ok with no tax if you have pre arranged the test with the mot test centre. Suppose you have an accident on the way, who is going to cover the damage? :?
Best bet is to get in touch with your insurance company and see if they can arrange a cover note for you!

yes thanks Cars, you must be right then, this was the dilemha i have been debating. The law can often be very ambiguous & confusing. I thought to myself, yes suposing i did have an accident, i would be sued for the damages. So today i will speak to my insuraance company.
kind regards Chris

Yes, Cars is right, it's Tax not insurance, silly me  I've always been insured when taking a car for MOT under the insurance for my daily driver. Sorry for any confusion :?
