Post by: 126redbomb on August 22, 2019, 04:23:54 PM
Hello all. Can someone tell me what these are called, only I have looked on Ebay and I can't see any that look anything like it. I don't know if the photos will load...

gearbox mounts, unique to the BIS. They're a bit rare and as a result sellers charge a pretty penny. Fiat Fischer currently has a pair in stock:

Axel Gerstl is a bit cheaper, unfortunately they haven't got any in stock.

Looks like Ricambio doesn't have any in stock either.

Maybe ask Piotross on the forum.

They are unique parts even in Poland and completely unavailable

It can be custom refurbished. There are workshops specialized in this kind of favours. It is a bit more expensive if they don't have the mold for the model.

Thanks guys for your quick replies. Yes it rhymes  ::).
If I can't find them I suppose that's what I will have to do. There is a unit near Birmingham airport that does CV joints, so fingers crossed they might be able to make some.

Iv seen a post somewhere, possibly piston heads forum. The lad filled them with black sticker flex/windscreen sealent to stiffen them up. Could be worth a try if your needing new ones anyway.

Has anybody ever measured the size of bush that would be required to recon the original mounts as this has been a recurring theme?  Have had a similar problem with the rear top shock absorber mount on a Fiat Panda Cross. The bush seems to be designed not too last and you cannot buy a replacement , you have to buy the whole shock so after initially having to buy a new set as time was not on my side I now recon one set whilst the other set is fitted then change pre MOT if required. I have either repaired originals, re cast my own poly bushes, found poly bushes I can modify or modified other bushes.
