Hi everyone
I'm Mac, I live in the north east of England. Not got a 126 yet, but recently moved and have a garage now, so looking to get one soon as a project.
I have a budget of around 300 pounds to get one, any tips on what to avoid? model preferance?

try to avoid any models with 126 or with the name fiat ! welcome to our little club you will get some good advice here. unfortunately i am not the person to give advice as all my cars are pooters!! happy hunting!

Excellent - thanks guys! Been reading up on 126s all weekend.. Can't wait to get started on the project. Looking to get a cheap Haynes manual this week ad start the hunt for BIS I think. In Teesside area, so if anyone knows of really cheap 126 going, drop me a message. I'll try and document the whole project on my website and take plenty of photographs.

without wanting to start a row,you'd be better looking for an aircooled,they are easier to keep running,but if you can find a GOOD Bis,go for it :lol:

Actually, I have decided to go for an air cooled option. I've done more reading on it and I think I'd rather go for an air colled version this time. I'm doing a mechanical course part-time at a local college in sept, but would really like to get to a point, where i can take the full engine out, clean it all up and put it back. But would be great to start of with a car that is working, without too many major issues. So, if anyone knows where I can pick up a cheap air cooled one I'd be interested. Looking forward to weekends with the 126 ;) cheers,
