Title: Modern headlight bulbs an MOT changes
Post by: Lina on February 11, 2018, 08:46:38 PM
Hi all!
I'm getting close to having the 126 out of restoration and definitely want better headlights. What options are available and are they OK as the MOT requirements changed recently.?

Put the standard bulbs in for the MOT then swop them for LED’s when you get home🚙🚙

Can't find any problems with LED lights in the MOT manual.

I have a set of led headlight bulbs that work very well  ;D but because led bulbs weren’t around at the time our vehicles were manufactured, according to the rules the headlights do not have “E” type approval to be used with none standard bulbs. It takes a few minutes to swap the bulbs over so not worth the hassle just incase.

P.S leave the std bulbs in the rear lights

Hi Pete,
Can I simply replace the my current bulb with a LED bulb without any modification?

Best regards,
