Title: Newcomer

New to the Fiat scene (a vw guy up until now with a 69 camper)

Recently went to Poland and came back with an '87 126p. 33k on the clock.
Girlfriend is Polish and her brother sourced the  car for me over there. A 2000 mile round trip to collect it in a Luton van!! Getting it in the back really was like a cross between Top Gear and The Italian Job!! Best part was the look on the guys face at Calais customs "You've got a CAR in the back???" Opened it up "sir that's awesome!!"

Planning on keeping it as original as possible. Do want to lower it although a quick read so far and it seems that isn't always as easy as it sounds (in vw land it is bolt off bolt on)

Had a quick go at driving it on private land - can't wait to get the papers back so it can go out on the road

Welcome from another newbie. I have a Polish registered 126 awaiting UK registration. If you need any help with the import and registration paperwork let me know - it's quite confusing until you realise you don't need to supply a lot of the info they ask for.

Mine is one of the later Polish models, a 1997 ELX - slightly different body panels, plus dash and some other bits from the Cinquecento. At some point I want a UK right hand drive car, preferably air cooled, but people are asking silly money for them at prices no one wants to buy them for.
