Post by: Jake.Pidduck on August 22, 2017, 10:57:25 AM
Hey,

Put that it's a 1976 series 1 incase they are different

Someone has cut the brake line that goes from the master cylinder to the back of the car,
Where can I buy new ones?

If you get the old one off to check the length then any decent garage or motor factors should be able to make you one up. That is the worst brake pipe to replace on the 126 so I would get a copper or corrosion resistant one made. Also need to make sure that you get the right ferrule. If you get stuck I could make one here  :)

Thanks for the reply rusty,

Measuring it won't help because they have taken it off the master cylinder then cut it so it's short :/ (and I don't have the other bit!)

These restorers are animals!!

I thought I had measured it, but unfortunately not!
If you have access to the car without getting in their way you could mock it up with some garden twine to gauge the length and take it to a garage for them to make it up. It's an M10 x 1.25 fitting. As Rusty says its a bit of a pain to fit, but it could be worse.
You can buy one from here:

If you're already needing some 126 parts then it's worth adding to the shopping list. I'm not sure what material it's made from but for 3 Euros you could use it as a template!
