We’re back! By popular demand, Red Oktober returns to the impressive setting of Millennium Place, in the heart of the city, directly in front of Coventry Transport Museum 14th October 2017.
This celebration of Eastern Bloc motoring, exactly 100 years since the October Revolution, brings together some of the unique vehicles from those regimes ‘on the other side of the Wall’.
Just turn up – All vehicles designed or built in the Cold War period are welcome. There’s no prior booking or fee for taking part, and you don’t have to be member of any club.
Entry to Coventry Transport Museum is free.

Vehicles display from 10am – 4.30pm. Access to Millennium Place is from Coventry Ring Road, junction 1. SatNav: CV1 1JR.

This sounds like double bonus to me. I did flag up the Coventry Motor Museum a while back. In the centre of Coventry but easy to get to and a very rare thing these days as it is FREE :) and well worth a visit with good facilities and reasonably priced catering. So if you can park out front as well with other classics can't be bad

Amateb8 it only took me around 2 and a half hours to get there. If your coming you need M25, M1 and probably M45 :thumbup
I'm a bit biased being from Coventry but the motor museum is fantastic plus it's just around the corner from the main shopping arcade so plenty of places to visit - I can even bring a umbrella and be a tour guide :P

Sadly I doubt I'll be able to visit this event, but if anyone is wondering about the museum itself, allow me to say that last year I visited Coventry for the first time in my life - having at one time been in sales covering the whole of the UK it's one of the few of our cities I had never been to before - and I have to say the museum is absolutely a must. It is - be aware - a Ronseal place: it is a COVENTRY - TRANSPORT museum. That is, it is not a museum of ALL transport that just happens to be in Coventry, but rather it is a museum of all aspects of transport that have 'happened' in the vicinity of Coventry.
Now since that's most of the "British" motor industry, there is a huge amount there, and with sponsorship from Jaguar some of the exhibits are absolutely mind-blowing. However, you will NOT find anything about Ford, (Dagenham, Liverpool) or Vauxhall (Luton) who were neither British firms nor based in Coventry. But you WILL find some astonishing land speed record breakers, and lots of detail about Humber, Triumph, Jaguar and other well known classic British names, as well as bikes and bicycles etc.
Plus, there is an excellent tea room/cafe (these things are important when you get to my age!) right next to the outside arena area, so if it's chilly or wet you can sit in the warm and dry with your cuppa whilst still admiring the vehicles on display outside.
Even if you can't make 14th, DO go to the museum if you get even half a chance!

I’m still planning on going to this tomorrow is anyone else? Also, how does it all work? Do you simply just mount the curb and park up or is there like a special part you need to go to first?

Not quite sure but I think you have to get in around the back of the Museum, I've sent out a few messages so when I get an answer I'll post it up here [emoji3]
