Title: Bearings

If fitting a new bearing, don't just smash it in with a hammer, this damages the bearing an the casing it is going into, causing a baggy misaligned damaged bearing, let temperature do the work, heat the casing if you can so the casing expands and put the bearing in the freezer so it contracts (shrinks),most often it will drop in with no need to hammer it home, when taking out bearings heat the assembly and then treat the bearing to freeze spray or as done before stick a frozen sausage into the bearing, if you need to tap a bearing out make sure you dissipate the load evenly to stop it twisting and damaging it's housing as it moves out, if you have a step or swarf in a housing this will result in a baggy replacement and bearing failure
