Title: Weber 30/DGF- Help?
Post by: Club1n on November 18, 2016, 07:38:01 AM
Hey all, was about to start rebuilding my carb and realised that this doesn't look right.. (http://i.imgur.com/qEGUoTr.jpg) Has anyone got an idea what's supposed to go in here, because it doesn't look to be a threaded hole  ??? (http://i.imgur.com/xDdG1Fx.jpg) If I can replace a part or put a bolt in I'll be happy.. If not doesn't anyone know of a replacement, either re-manufactured or straight bolt on, which isn't a Polski carb?

Thanks all,

Matti. :D

Hi mat mine is exactly the same. The hole is a pivot point for that lever and as you say there should be a brass plug that pushes in and holds it all together. Over time they vibrate out. The lever controls the fast idle valve so when the fan cuts in and the revs drop due to the power loss the lever opens the butterfly valve slightly via a vacuum to compensate. There are no spare parts for it so it's a case of finding something the same size and bunging it in  :D

Perhaps with a dollop of Loctite 638?
