Hi all,
Since last year was quite a success with Calendars, I'm willing to do another one this year.
Same applies as last year... If I get enough interest I will do some pricing up and see where it goes....
let me know if you think it could have been improved on last year :)

Sure, as long as drcdb15 doesn't follow through with his idea...
Next year, in the spirit of Calendar Girls, will we have "Calendar Cars", with the unclothed owners tastefully and decorously draped in, over and around their vehicles with discreetly placed wing mirrors or half-opened bonnets to cover the parts that other calendars cannot reach ?
-
Go for it Chris and use your artistic talents. The theme idea is good if you get enough suitable material :)
ps not sure if a half opened bonnet is big enough for me ;D

You haven't lived till you've seen me decorously draped over a 126 ... :P

I enjoyed my evening meal but did not expect to see it again so quickly... :o

Gosh, what a lot of new members we seem to be getting these past few days!
What do others think of this idea: that we (that is, Chris L!!) seek calendar shots for 2017 from our newer recruits of their cars, which frequently it seems to me are at the early stages of being restored or just dug out of the barn or whatever. Last year's excellent production featured cars which by and large were show standard, all gleaming highly polished in the sun.
Why not for next year go to the other end of the spectrum, as it were, and feature some of the cars our members are hoping to save, and bring back to their former glory? For those who have completed this admirable journey, and whose blood sweat and tears have resulted in magnificently restored cars, there could be a before/after split shot.
Gadge's recent achievements with Luigi is an obvious contender here, but there must be others. I recall, for instance the green 126 form an Irish member that was heavily featured in the Irish classic car press. If I remember correctly, that rebuild was well-documented photographically.
And to give it an international flavour, how about including one of the Australian Nikis and AvB's brilliant yellow Cuban wannabe Pope-mobile? I'm sure our friends in mainland Europe can also contribute something too!
It's just an idea, and it might give encouragement through the year to those engaged on this journey who might face those occasional moments along the way that make us lose heart and wonder why on earth we engaged in the project in the first place.

i would be interested ;), and i beter get my camera out lol :D
-
I'm up for that :) got plenty of pictures to choose from
-
So is this happening, do we have enough?
-
I would like to buy a 2017 calendar if the price is similar to last year's. How many buyers would you need, and what would the price be?
-
Count me in.
Ralph
-
Would definitely add more motivation in the garage ;D
-
I'd be totally down, I'll use it to show my friends what a nice 126 looks like! ;D
-
Last year I sold 23 calendars and this year I've only got a definite 9 people.
It is more expensive to print only 10 than 25 calendars.
I can do the 10 at £9 each including P&P to UK mainland.
I'd need people emailing me with an order and also sending me the photos to [email protected]
If I get 10 people/orders for a calendar then I will set them up and get them ordered by the end of the week.

Chris pm sent.

Chris, before you go ahead may I suggest a broader publicity push? I cannot believe that with a membership of well over 2500 people only a mere ten are interested - I suspect most either never knew about last year's calendar or have simply forgotten.
You are ideally placed as Webmaster to highlight the availability of calendars across ALL forum sections and threads, so how about placing a banner notice on the home page and some sort of corner flash or pop-up alert on every thread so that everyone, even casual browsers of the site, get a prominent reminder that calendars are available? They should also be listed in the merchandise section, for loved ones of 126 fans looking for Christmas gifts, and further afield, how about an eBay listing?
Certainly you can count me in for a firm order, and if you generate significant business and hence the physical work required to get them packaged, sent out etc, I'll be happy to help out. Is it possible to set up some easy-pay mechanism using Paypal etc so that impulse buyers can be captured?
Perhaps members in other countries or with strong links there can act as local distributors.

Only a fraction of those people visit here, and only a fraction of those visit regularly.
I wouldn't recommend a banner, people ignore it and they probably wouldn't notice it being changed anyway (the current banner has been there for just over a year now!) I do agree on advertising elsewhere though, get it posted on the Facebook groups, send a PM/email to those who were involved last year.
Emailed my entry 👍

Ive emailed my pic and order :thumbup

Hi,
I agree there should be more interest as there are a lot of owners of the cars but we're only a small forum. I'm not the webmaster so I can't do any of the above unfortunately.
Also at the same time I don't really have the time to be advertising this all over facebook and ebay etc as ive got to work and do my work for my degree :(
If someone else wants to advertise the calendar thats fine. I will be putting it together this week if I get enough interest but so far I've only had 6 people email/PM me with orders.
Thanks

My apologies, getting mixed up with all the Chrises on here :$
My remarks were intended for Chris Lewis.
-
Thanks Xylaquin.
No probs dcrd :)
at 7 so far.
Chris
-
Come on people, there must be more than just 7 of us interested
-
Thats with someone ordering 2 as well.
I hope this isn't taken the wrong way but I dont want spend the time creating the full front cover out of custom images like last year if the interest isn't there. I very much enjoy creating the calendars and I like to use them, the local bodyshop even has one of our calendars! (thanks to Bar Vitelli) Chris has spoken to me about last years photos and I am going to post them up for some inspiration from last year so I hope that will drum up some interest! :)
Any other ideas I'm open to suggestions.
Chris

-
No problem, I'll do some photos this week / weekend and then get them all ordered.
Chris :)
-
Hi all,
Ive started the calendar and I'm making the front cover similar to last year right now but I was wondering if people could get their photos to me by the end of tomorrow.
I have 8 photos right now and I've asked 126Fan to send me a few photos too.
Also please could you all tell me the Reg of your car and your name e.g HNC324V DeVilleChris
Only because I am struggling to put the names on like last time because the email addresses are different to forum names :D
Thanks a lot
Chris

Mines F817 SOU ........ And I'll just have one :)
-
Our reg is J437LLX :)
-
I believe I sent you mine from an email address that corresponds to my forum name.
Unless you're meaning our actual name?

Hi Chris, how is progress on this? I haven't sent my order yet but will do over the weekend. What is the final price you've settled on? Thanks
-
Ey up, Chris, are these still going ahead? I might be in the market for a few! Any chance of squeezing the Silver in if I send you a picture? ;)
-
Hi all,
Sorry for the lack of communication, I've had no internet as I just moved house but I got it all set back up again today and I have finished the Calendars - had to use a few photos from the facebook page as I didn't get 12 photos :( Before I order it any last minute photos would be ace!!
It works out at £9.50 each including delivery if that is ok? I've had to put it up slightly due to only having 14 people order because its 10 less than last year.
If you could PayPal me your £9.50 with your address and forum name on the message (to confirm so I dont send too many or miss someone) to [email protected].
Again, sorry this has taken so long, its been a bit of a manic last few weeks with the house move!!
Thanks
Chris

Hi all,
The calendars arrived this morning.
I am happy with them and I will be sending them out to the people that have paid in the next few days.
To people that said they wanted one but haven't paid yet, please PayPal me when you can so I can send out all the calendars at the same time :)
Hope you all had a good New Year.
Chris

Hi Chris, calendar arrived this morning YIPPEEEE !! (I'm easily pleased :P) and can I be the first to congratulate you on another excellent job?
The choice of photos shows in my view no little creative talent, and a most fascinating contrast between the sorry state of a salvaged vehicle on a trailer at one extreme to the highly polished and obviously much-time-invested tuned engine close-up at the other. Excellent all round in my view.
:thumbup
Now, the theme for next year...
-
Got mine up here this morning too.
Very relieved that drcdb15 isn't naked anywhere in it :)
-
Got mine today aswell and I'm very pleased indeed ;D
-
Mine arrived today also and im very pleased with it, great job :good:

Picked mine up today when I brought an engine off Chris :') They're really nice, hope you do another next year when I'll have more cars! :P
-
Glad you liked them! Next years wont be as much of a rush cause I'll start asking for pictures in August/september time! And then Will hopefully have loads to choose from!
Thanks all
Chris
