Title: Engine Mounts?
Post by: Early126 on May 16, 2016, 07:36:38 AM
Been out and about for the first time in the 126 and getting some miles under my belt. When I go over a bump in the road there is a loud knock form the back of the car. I think its the engine moving and knocking on the main rear mount spring?
Does this sound likely? Spring looks old, all bolts are tight.
Ive got a 650 Abarth engine and wondered If I should use the uprated engine spring that's available?

Cheers
Deano  ;D

I had a similar thing with our bis, it sometimes did it  in reverse too if you started off to fast or reversing up a hill, i changed the rear spring mount and rubbers and it cured it  :)
i'd also check the other gearbox/engine mounts at the same time as i found out they were also shot lol
