Title: Exhaust bandage 126P

Hi!

I'm considering wrapping my exhaust pipes in heat shielding glass fiber bandage in order to reduce heat radiation on the dizzy and condenser. My question is, will this affect my engine in any way? Positive/negative?

Would this be the same bandage used on motorcycles?
If it is, someone whose good around custom Harleys told me that the bandage hold water when wet and the exhaust will rot.

Also with the excessive build up of heat the pipes tend to split :(

Also, I don't think the dizzy and condenser need shielding, removing the condenser and replacing the points with Accuspark seems to be the better option, as some here say. And make sure the airflow in the engine bay isn't restricted. Underneath is a panel that guides fresh air in but these fins get bent sometimes. And of course, make sure thermostat is in good working condition.
