Hey Forum - I'm Darin; currently living in Kaiserslautern.  I'm looking for a car to bring home with me when I return to the states in 2018-2021, and I think the 126 is that car.  I tend to like weird cars; I'm debating between the 126 and a Golf Country - and maybe a 500 or even the stand-by: Mini.  So - I joined the forum to learn more about these cars - I am actually a former owner.  When I was a Soldier stationed here in Germany I picked up a 1982 (maybe?) 126 for 250DM.  First gear didn't work, but otherwise I had a lot of fun driving around...slowly.  See attached scan of a Film* print. 

I already appreciate the knowledge and experience i'm seeing.  Ideally, I'll find one the way I want it, then buy it - as opposed to having to build it myself.  I like the idea of a stock-ish, but I ALSO very-much like the idea of one track-ready - as one of my hobbies is hurling my RX8 (also attached) through the twisty portions of track days.  I think I'd love to have a 126 I could trailer - and even tow it with my mazda :)


*For you youngin's, FILM is what we used to take photos - we'd have to pay to have them processed then printed. ;)
