Title: Where to buy a starter motor
Post by: max on March 25, 2016, 03:21:25 PM
I think the starter on my 126ELX needs replacing. Having trouble starting but if I bash the starter motor, I can eventually start it.

Where is the best place to get a starter motor from?
Are all 126 starter motors the same?

I've this starter motor at Mister Auto for £88. I've seen in older posts people paying around £50 for a starter so this seems a bit expensive in comparison.

Thanks

Despite what that ebay listing says it is almost certainly a recon unit as opposed to new which is not a problem. If the solenoid is working ok on your one you may just need new brushes and a bit of internal cleaning. I think I still have a recon unit in my garage if you get stuck and I am not too far away from you  :)
