Is it me, or is the 126 becoming more and more seen as a typically Polish icon rather than an Italian one? The 500 seems to be strongly Italian, but the 126 not so much so.
Discuss.

Sponsored by their godfather a team of Mafiosi made their way to London to seek revenge for an earlier raid by their British counterparts. Working as a team they raided a gold bullion van and made their escape through the narrow backstreets and alleyways in 3 Fiat 126, one red, one white and one green. They switched vehicles hiding the 126's in the back of 3 Fiat Amigo's and made it nearly all the way back to Turin when disaster struck. Boom! Boom! Boom! They had started the cars up in the back of the vans and reversed hard to exit. Too hard, they took the roof and the side panels off as they escaped. The leader was heard to say 'You were only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!'
Had this movie been made in the way it actually happened the 126 would be the Italian legend it deserves to be...

Brilliant !! ;D
Though presumably that's the sub-title version, unless Michael Caine is really Italian. I think we should be told!

I understand why it has become a Polish icon because most of the cars were built there, but I don't think the 126 gets the Italian recognition it deserves either. Original Italian built cars are the most special and are becoming the most sought after.
Italian Fiat and Polski Fiat are two different things really but having owned both my allegiance has to go to Italian.
Having said that, the Polish influence is great for parts and makes running them much much cheaper.
