This is what you can do if you have deep pockets :o Italian 700cc twin just like the Bis :P Water Cooled, 8 Valve Twincam and Twin Spark Ignition ;D

Is that the one with the Yamaha TDM tope-end?
I bet he's running a forged crankshaft :P

Here's another Italian Special Engine :D

Whilst i can appreciate these motors and i try to like them, there is just something unappealing about spending that much money for 80hp*
*I'm assuming that's what it has...it may be less but i doubt that much more.
I know i know...the purists are coming for me :p
Does anyone know what that first motor costs? and power figures even if its a ballpark one?

It’s probably more for the challenge of it. If I had access to a CNC Miller and had the knowledge (plus a lot of cash) I would love to make a twin cam head for my motor. Far more rewarding than trying to squeeze an oversized car engine into the rear (or even the front!) and to be fair 80 odd hp would make it quite quick....... but i guess saying “my cars go 80bhp†doesn’t make you sound good your amongst your mates

Since my daily ride is an i-VTEC Honda Stream, my 126 engine porn dreams :$ came to a higher level - 21-st century one. ;D
The bad thing that it is almost impossible to build a reliable aircooled head.

Probably it is easier to put vertical a Bis engine and fit a DOHC head with the same cylinder center to center distance - Alfa Boxer or Subaru, or a half from 4 cyl. head, if there is some luck.
The engine with the red valve cover reminds me of Alfa Twin spark, but can't be sure.

Just came up with another perverted idea. We could use the Multiair Fiat technology :$ upgrading the intake valve operation over the original head. The exhaust one remains the same.

The pushrod activates the hydraulic piston directly, with no rocker, mounted over the head (maybe an old school clearance adjustment will be needed). There will be the Multiair intake valve as big as possible, fitted with its master cylinder. And finally the electromagnetic solenoid valve. Sure it will need the computer, (mono)injection system, all the senders, etc. The camshaft duration and lift has to be similar to the original Multiair one, probably a sports camshaft would make it better.
I guess that with modern lightweight pistons and rods the above setup could reach 40hp with ease.
Just thinking out loud ???
Cheers ;)
