i thought they drove on the proper side of the road in Poland like they do in Russia, in which case it will be rhd like UK vehicles

UK, Ireland Malta and Cyprus are the only countries in Europe driving on the left. Russia would be LHD as it was an anti-aristocratic principle to travel on the right hand side of the road (to do with having your sword handy for decapitating oncoming plebians). The story goes that revolutionary France formalised it and then Napoleon invaded everyone else and built a European road system for his armies. The rest is history.....

i didn't realise so many countries drove on the wrong side of the road, i know that europe driving on the wrong side was down to napolian and the US down to henry ford, but i could has sworn Ladas had RHD like jap cars

tatras pre war were rhd,just been reading about the aircooled rear engine rear drive tatra that vw aparently ripped off the idea from,the guys car is lhd now,but was converted many years ago from rhd

There are winds of change blowing in for the countries who drive on the left.The republic of Ireland went all continental at the start of the year as in all road signs in kilometers and all new cars in kph.I think they will be changing to the right in a few years time.(I think Sweeden did in the sixties).

I can't see anyone bothering to switch now - there's just too many cars, roads, signs, traffic lights, motorways and people moaning about being ruled from Brussels to make it worth the billions it would cost. Compare that to the slight inconvenience for a car manufacturer having to switch a production line to RHD for a few days a month. I think the UK will stick with RHD, along with princes and princesses, for some time. Aren't we quaint...  :roll:
