Title: Colours

Unfortunaltaly I have turned to the dark side and got myself a 500 but I couldent resist, what I wanted to know is was this green original, I'm guessing no, and is there an original green it should be

It's a 1969 L model

Cheers Chris this is the good side, unfortunaltaly the front wing on the other side it's got some damage, and the paintwork is bubbling in places so a paint job might be happening

Hi Will,

They never used Pearlescent paint on the 500's

 :P cheers Pete, hope this one doesn't take too much time, on closer inspection today it looks like it was beige,

Making a list of parts already, one thing that's worrying me is that it's a 1969 car with no seatbelts and has no mounting for them either. It doesn't look like it will affect the Mot as it wasn't on the fail certificate but looking at other 500s of the same age they had seatbelts  ::)

Could be because its a lhd import :headscratch:

Britain required the fitting of seatbelt anchorage points in the front of new cars in 1967 (post-1965 cars had to be fitted with belts retrospectively) but it did not become the law for drivers and front passengers to wear seatbelts until January 31, 1983.

Maybe it is older than the logbook says, I don't know, I'll find out somehow  ;D

That would be one explanation for the lack of seat belt fixing points
