« on: January 25, 2022, 10:27:56 PM »
I have a donor RHD car (1981) and looking to "maybe" convert a LHD shell (1996) to a RHD...........

Is it possible............

Is it easy (ish)

Restore the RHD car would be my recommendation.

If it’s a big job it will be more fun!

It may cost more money but you will never be rich if you have a 126 in your life!

LHD to RHD will always leave you asking why?

I did this conversion myself last year.
Easyish ? - depends on your skill level.
Many of the holes in the bulkhead are already there on both sides of the car......but not all of them.

Are both cars steering rack or steering box?
As LHD my car was steering box but I also converted to steering rack which necessitated fabricating brackets to hold the rack. These needed welding to the bulkhead.
In your case you could just cut the relevant part of the bulkhead out of the RHD car & weld it into your car.

Pedals are easy, wiring needs extending across the car.
Brake pipes need remaking for the front.
Here's some pics from when I did mine.
