toz phillipas and barries are not the same colour .

get barry to look at his chassis no and see if it has any similarities to daves as barrys is a sort of grey blue.

oh gee, thanks guys, who would think that there would be three??.that accounts for the diff colour it had when it was repaired after the 1987 storm,3 months old and damaged!.............the original is a nice colour, kinda slate blue, the one it recieved is more WW2 wermacht field grey...............quite fetching actually.....so im looking for a 4 number,i know buzz 1 had its builed sheet under the rear seat sound proofing,i'll look there........

Wellll... if it's any help my '87 E-reg FSM is that fetching blue/grey colour.

The colour code is under the luggage compartment (boot/bonnet/thing)  The code is 481/F Azzurro.  I've had tins of spray paint made up and they are a pretty good match (to some of the car anyway) :???:

Great to know you've got the paint sorted Dave. i've just  had some paint mixed locally. i had the paint code which was 854/f siam red and a sample that i'd cut off the panel i cut out for the sun roof, when he mixed it to the original as new colour, the shade was well out, he then spent the next 35mins modifiying the colour a total of 4 times to get the shade wright for an 18 year old car, which is now a spot on match, its nice to know that there are some good guys out there who will spend time to get it wright, not like the mass produced paints bought in car shops. and all for £24+vat per litre. look forward to seeing the pics.
