Hello from Australia

Hi everyone.

I recently purchased a 1989 FSM Niki 650 here in Australia I have been looking for one on and off for year's and this one just happened to fall into my lap. It was a one family owned car and was left under a cover in a dry shed since 1997 until I found out about it late last year. The car has only 29,500 kilometres from new.

I am currently going through it and fixing what needs doing after sitting idle for 24 year's. I also bought a spare car that the same owner had and stripped it of most parts for spares.

Yes it seems pretty good for it's age.

id change the hoses and I'd relocate the fuel filter.  what the the black box on the left of the engine, I've not seen that before?

Lot's of things to do yes, that black box is a charcoal canister to store fuel vapour when car isn't used and next time you use the car the engine draws those fuel vapours into the engine. It's to reduce pollution this was a requirement on all cars in Australia at the time.
