Chrome bumper rear licence plate light
« on: December 01, 2021, 01:57:32 PM »
Hi all
Planning to convert to chrome bumpers etc.
What happens to rear licence plate light, where is it mounted & what parts do I require.
Does anyone have a photo ?
Regards
Jerry

Hi Jerry,

I've just looked at mine and the light is held on by this part:
https://www.fdricambi.com/en/fiat-126/lighting/miscellaneous/vl1234-license-plate-light-support-fiat-126
It's an L-shaped piece that mounts on the bumper with 2 screws. The light snaps in place.

I don't know how this compares to your car. Maybe the light itself is the same?

Thanks Bert.
Light is different and appears out of stock everywhere except Poland.
Have plenty of time though, not doing bumpers until Feb
Cheers

I've done exactly this to my car and this was my solution....
I bought 2 surface mounted LED lights off ebay (because they came in pairs)

I can't see them now on ebay but these are similar and only cost £6.88 for 2.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/384416825388?hash=item598107402c%3Ag%3AaOUAAOSwyfVhUqju&LH_ItemCondition=3

and fixed one to the back panel so it's hidden by the bumper

My rear fog light is also an LED light from ebay - sold as a motorcycle rear light.
It has 2 brightness levels (side light & brake light), but I only connected the brighter one to use as a fog light.
The MOT tester was quite happy with it.
