Title: 126 Bis Rad Fan fuse Blowing?
Post by: ciaoflyer on September 03, 2006, 07:59:03 PM
Hi

More advice i'm afriad.  Engine runs great but still gets hot, needle sits 2 lines below the red mark, is this normal?  Also as the fan cuts in it keeps blowing it's fuse.  It  a gradual thing, the fan works about ten times and then it cooks the fuse!  Can you suggest where the fault maybe?

Thanks
Ciao

Arttached a pic of my motor, hope you like!

did this with mine - i had a shared fuse with the rear wiper- my wiper motor was seized and it kept blowing fuses ...last one cause the engine to over heat and blew the head gasket! (ive shaved the rear wiper now)

but see if it blows when you use your wiper it might be the problem

VERY tasty bis............is the front bumper mounted on springs??? or just the pic showing that???

i would over ride the fan on any bis, switch it manualy from the dash,in fact, leave it on after warm up..................,use you wiper feed and switch.

the fuse problem could be fan motor worn out?,brushes worn, pulling too much current?i have spare here in jersey if needed.

Hi

Thanks for help, could anyone give an example on how to install the override switch, cos i'm not sure!

Do I remove the two stage switch and wire it in there?

Cheers

Hi again

Put in manual override and this works fine, does not blow the fuse.  However if you just let the two stage switch cool the rad the fuse blows?  Two stage switch is new so I'm at a loss!
