Looks like I will be selling the 126
« on: November 08, 2006, 09:29:40 AM »
 Its been a long and hard decicsion to make but I think I will have to sell my 126. Its been brought about by a knee condition which makes using the 126 for any distance extremely painful. Anyway at the moment its off the road with no MOT or tax, but come the better weather Ill get an MOT then probably ebay her. Ive owned her since 1999 so its a tough thing to do especially as she is in such great condition.

Are you really sure? It will really be a shame. You will miss the car, miss the shows and miss the forum.

Sleep on it

basically, having my knee bent for any lenghth of time is killing it. Even in the Panda it hurts. Im not going to do anything about the 126 till spring anyway, by then I hope to have seen a specialist, hopefully he might be able to fix me!!! If I can keep driving the 126 she will stay, will have to see

well lets hope it goes away, once and for all.

Barry membership can be renewed by sending a cheque of £12 made payable to FIAT 126 CLUB you get a tax disc holder with that  :)
its my own fault i should have sent out reminders to all our members.

Its £12 for current members to renew and still £16 for new comers as they get all the bits with it.

there is no hurry to rejoin, you dont have to if you dont want to mate, you can wait and see what happens in the spring.

cheers bud

i am tallish with knee problems too and can't get behind the wheel in a Matiz, but i have no problem with my 126, there is a small mod needed first but after that it is fine. to make the car fit a bigger driver bend the rear stops on the seat runners so you can push the seat all the way back untill it is about an inch away from the rear seat, this has allowed me to drive for many miles without discomfort. only prob is it does not leave much room for rear passengers, they need to sit sideways with their legs in the centre of the car or one leg each side of the front seat.

haha Barry most wives would get the chapaigne out!

sBarry do you have much headroom left? or are you nearly touching roof?

the reason i think its bad for drivers knees is because the seat sinks too much, if you could get the seat higher i think it would take pressure off your knees (as well as move the seat back further)

Barry have you tried fitting a cinq or seicento seat?
