Distributor leaking oil when the engine is stopped
« on: March 27, 2021, 06:27:29 PM »
Hi!

There is a drop of oil on the road almost every time I stop the engine. With the engine running everything is fine. As you can see in the picture, the drop comes from this hole under the distributor... Any help/ideas on that? I tried to disassemble the distributor but I was afraid of breaking something... Do you have any guide to disassemble and solve this issue? This is a Zelmot distributor, from a 126p.

Thanks in advance,

Nestor

Are you sure that the oil is coming from the distributor? It could be coming from the main engine near the distributor? Have you checked that the oil filler cap and the dipstick are on securely? Is the rocker cover gasket in good condition or does it need replacing? Watch the engine running to see if you can spot where the oil is coming from.
