Indicators light dimming in instrument cluster
« on: July 24, 2023, 01:42:13 PM »
My indicator (turn switch) light on my dashboard flashes a couple of times then gets dimmer and dimmer and eventually goes off but the indicator lights on the outside of the car all work when I use the switch.
Tried checking all the indicator connections. Seem OK. I even took steering wheel off to look at the turn switch which was dusty but seems to work.
Is the flasher unit dodgy maybe?

According to the wiring diagram there appears to be 3 wires connected to the flasher unit.
One wire brings the power in, the next wire takes the power to the indicator switch (where it's split left/right) and the last wire powers only the dash warning light.

So it could be possible that the flasher unit is on it's way out but I'd try cleaning the connections at the flasher unit first

For the price of a new flasher unit I would just replace it. If the problem is still there you will have always have a spare one.
