You might be able to use them plugs, you`ve got on your new wheel cylinders but I don`t think it`ll work.
You`ll probably be better off just draining all the old brake fluid. It`ll take you a while to bleed them afterwards, but at least you`ll have new brake fluid.
There has been loads written on here about brake bleeding and best ways of doing it.
 Fingers crossed.  :good:

FINALLY all done :D  Only needed help to get the lower rear brake shoe springs back on - let down by simply not being strong enough!!  :$

Bleeding was okay - got it bubble-free on the 2nd round of bleeding, so not bad.

Handbrake was a NIGHTMARE!!  The adjusters were completely rusted and unmovable, with the nearside one actually being impossible to get a 19 spanner onto it due to the petrol tank being in the way.  Also had some help, unsuccessfully, with handbrake adjustment - tried everything from WD40 to blowtorch - nada.  Finally got to thinking of a bodge and discovered there was some adjustment to be had at the handbrake lever end - loosened the four 13 mil bolts and hammered the whole lever unit forward!!  It's tight enough now for the MOT.

As for the brakes, they now feel worse than before, but guessing they'll bed in.  Can't really take it for a drive to do that, as it's now illegal to be driven anywhere other than the MOT test centre, so will keep my fingers crossed that the test itself will help a bit.

126blackbird has just been round and reassured me the brakes have been bled okay, cheers Graham!!

Nothing more to do now except book it in for its retest tomorrow... will let you know how it goes...

Still can't believe I didn't break a single nail lol!

Well done LIna and congratulations  ;D Great that you did most of it yourself  :)
Out of interest when I have trouble with strong brake srings I locate the spring at one end in a shoe then use a medium size screwdriver , push the end into the other shoe hole, get the free hook of the spring on the screwdriver shaft then use the screwdriver as a lever to stretch the spring beyond it's required length so the hook will slide down the screwdriver towards the hole and with a little joggling you can usualy pop it in  :)
