Well done. Lovely car! I think I saw this car on Youtube. My MoT is due in October, so the day of reckoning for me is fast approaching. I had an advisory on the front tire movement but luckily the guy doing the MoT was Italian and was well versed on 126s. He knew it was normal to have bit of movement, otherwise the wheel bearings would sieze quickly. I hope I get him again.

Hi chaps, quick update, been driving the 126 all weekend, must have done 60 odd miles with no probs so far! Drives really well actually. I was worried about holding people up, but as i live in a "Tourist" hot spot, everyone drives at 30 to 40 MPH anyway, so the 126 feels quite suited! I even overtook someone doing 40 MPH on a long straight! And i managed 70 MPH on another. It drives much better than i thought and considering my size, i find it really comfy. Turns a lot of heads too, really fun car, i'm well chuffed!

Only slight mishap was that the new fan belt (one with teeth) kept turning on it's side. It still worked fine but i was a bit worried so i've put the old one back on. Wondering if they sent me the wrong belt, should it have little teeth? The old one didn't.

 :)

Hey I make that an average speed of 30 miles per day , mine is in miles per hour  ;D
Anyway I would check the alignment of the belt pulleys if that belt is turning. You can do that by putting a straight edge on a pulley rim and see how it aligns with the other ones.

Thanks, will do. Is there a chance the alignment could be out after the oil change and partial disassembly of the pulley?

No because you only took the cover off the pulley. Long time since I had a Bis but only the alternator could be out of line from memory.

I just watched your video on youtube to compare and you have the same wear on your spare tyre as me. I was going to get a new on fitted because every time I opened the bonnet it would stare me in the face. I won't bother now. That's a very nice original car.

Yea thanks, she's not in bad nick! I removed the spare for the MOT, it would have failed obviously, but if there isn't one there, they can't fail it!  :D

Oh. I was told if it has a spare and it's illegal, they can fail it!

I seem to remember you posting a picture of your 126 next to your new Fiat 500. Could you post that picture again please if possible. People here at work think that the 126 is slightly smaller than the new 500. I'd like to show them the photo to prove that it is a lot smaller!

Sure thing. The new 500 is based on the new Panda, which is a fairly small car, looks smaller as a 500 with 3 doors and lots of curves! But yea, it still dwarfs the tiny 126! I'll find a pic later.

EDIT: These 2 show the size difference well, 13" wheels V's 17"! In the metal, the size difference is even more apparent!

Yes the 5 door estate thing? Truly hideous peice of metal, hate them!

Yes i'm quite happy with my current Fiats! My brother has a Panda 100HP in Red too, before that he had a Stilo and a Seicento, and i've also had a Panda Diesel and my Mum used to have a Panda 1.2 so we've had a few Fiats in the family thus far.
