WELCOME TO THE CLUB

as you can probably see here there is a lot of talk about this car, if you got the car you would catch everyone's eye on here

To be honest the fiat 126 gods on here say its not italian, and as I've read a lot about 126s and have two of them I do belive them , nearly 3,000,000 Polish 126s on the road and it's the right age someone could have stuck made in Italy on it, too much of a risk for that price I think.

For the price it's going for you could get a fiat 500 project, but it's not upto me if you want it get it, we don't want to keep seeing this car on eBay

Good luck
fiats forever

I've only gone and found the elusive cream bambino feature article in Practical classics Feb 2010!!!

It is in Ebays most watched section.  :D

It says
"Fiat 126 Bambino
Sold for £2050. High price explained by one owner, 28,500-mile history, tuned engine and suspension, plus cavity wax from new."
One small photo from side, similar vinyls on side of car, but they say Abarth, not Bambino. It also has an Italian Flag on the door.

I just wasted hours looking for that, it's not even a classified ad!!! It's only in there because it sold for an unusually high amount of money!!!
This must mean that our 126 and myself had a centre spread feature article in classic car weekly April 2011!!! I'm going to bed. In a sulk :-X :-X :-X

Unless I'm mistaken they are mini bumpers. You can see the front image has a cover section, this is where the bumper has a few inches chopped off to match the width of the fiat. When you see it close up, you can see the bumper curve doesn't match the body curve and it looks worse. I seem to remember another 126 being sold with mini bumpers on Ebay a few years ago I think it was a white late aircooled masquerading as an early aircooled.

Interesting to hear the ('bambino') car goes like stink. I wouldn't have expected that part to be correct. Stiff suspension is a good sign some money has been spent on it. I would still be dubious of the seller, if he's making a loss selling it at that price, what questions did he ask when he bought it? seems odd to me, but then I'm a very cynical person!
Still, it allegedly being a 'bambino' edition still annoys me!

thanks guys but the seller is indian, and about 45 lol, it really was very quick, i know your all not happy about the car but it is really nice, there is no denying that.

the seller is not a forum type to be honest, he is more old skool.

We all seem to agree that it looks nice, what has annoyed us is not the car, it is the sellers insistence that it is something it isn't. As long as you know that (which is what this thread is for) and you still want the car, go for it, if you are happy to pay the money that is fine. As long as your decision isn't made by the super special ferrari edition, ex F1 driver owned, ex pc feature car, Italian built bullocks!!!

I do wish people would really listen to the experts. After all, that is what a club like this is for.

The car is NOT Italian, and it is NOT any special edition. Marc and the others have provided more than enough evidence to suggest this, or at least cast doubt over the cars originality. Yes it looks nice, and yes it may drive nicely but it is not the car that is being advertised!

Ane even in its current condition, it is not worth that amount of money.

The seller is trying to re-coup his loses, because he got ripped off when he bought it. If he had joined the club, then maybe he wouldnt be in this position either.

I don't want to see this back on eBay again, and I don't want to see some poor sod shell out loads of money on it, for what is effectively a couple of ferrari stickers.

Rant over.

Could the sale of the car be classed as fraud? Someone should contact eBay.
