Cleaning your 126
« on: June 30, 2019, 09:36:52 PM »
Hi,
What do people recommend to clean their 126?  Don't won't to get my car wet if I can help it, not that there is any rust but just to prevent it??  What would bring out the best shine in the paint?

If it’s very dirty I’d be a bit unsure about wiping dirt across the paint but if it’s not bad and you keep on top of it then this is what I would use

https://www.meguiars.co.uk/shop/ultimate-wash-wax-anywhere-768ml

I use there new hybrid ceramic wax, that would be a good base coat and will keep most of the dirt away to start with then use the waterless to keep on top of maybe.

I do not think washing with water is a problem as long as you dry it well later.... only thing i would not recommend is using a power washer as they tend to damage any fragile part or paint...

Thanks both - have some waterless clean and wax to use from now on.

Make sure that your 126 is not covered in heavy dirt before using waterless products because they can create swirl patterns in the paintwork. However, they are great with light dirt etc..
