Hi all.
I need a starter for my bis, does one from any other car fit or do i have to keep a look out for a bis one?

If the solenoid is just clicking but it starts some times you probably get away with replacing the solenoid switch :D

yep its doing that pete, its also sometimes not engaging but still spinning and its also letting go to early as in when the engine just fires the starter lets go but it hasn't spun it quite enough to start, i also think its turning over a lot slower than it used to

The solenoid throws the the starter cog into the ring gear if it doesn't engage the starter motor would just spin.

I've repaired a couple of solenoids in the past, not difficult, but you need a good soldering iron.
