Double Coil Temperature ....
« on: March 02, 2018, 09:52:49 PM »
Hello Once Again!!!

Salute to all my friends!!!

I was missing for a long time. Im currently working on my theses to graduate in late June as a Software Engineer so i dont have much time :D

Long hot days are coming to Havana ... temperatures are going up to 30ºC and its only the beginning of march... im afraid of my double coil and the heat from the engine ... i have giannini oil pan and valve cover, this reduces the heat.

I was wondering, whats the normal temperature of the fiat 126 double coil?

Thank you very much!

That shouldn’t be a problem don’t forget that the 126 was sold Into some very hot countries these usually help to extract heat

Cheers Pete!. Thanks for the fast reply.

I took a look over at the page you wrote here. If the condition gets too hot during summer ill will buy that part :).

Many thanks!

Also a good idea is to move the coil to the other(colder side)of the engine bay.

That is my initial thought :D, maybe i end up by doing it to endure the coil´s life!

I found out the hard way that I needed a ballast resistor with a twin spark coil after two brand new coils burnt out on me in a couple of weeks  :o
