Hello. 126p 'Brown' ?
« on: February 13, 2018, 09:12:25 PM »
Good evening everyone.
I have recently bought a D reg 126p and, according to the V5, it is a 'Brown' model. Is there much significance to this?

The air intake/cooler housing with the alternator attached to it was on the back seat of the car when I bought it, and shows extensive signs of having rusted through and then been repaired in a DIY fashion, to the point where I think it would be better to replace.

I believe the car has done 124000 miles, although the odometer shows 24000.

Can anyone help with where to get a new/used air cooler housing? Or potentially a new entire engine?

I intend to restore the car as much as I can to original spec, or to at least look original.

I have found the Ricambi website for spares, could anyone recommend any others for spares please?

Thanks very much.

Tony.

You'll find a few things on eBay (LP Garage operates from there)
The only other UK shop is Ricambio.co.uk, but they're pretty expensive.

You'll find a big selection at cheaper prices from shops on the continent. Here are the ones I have found so far:

Allegro.pl is the cheapest, but you'll need Google Translate and a few extra minutes to find your way about.

Failing that, just let us know what you're after

Hi guys, thanks for your replies.
I think I am best to go for a new (used) engine. Then I can use what came with the car as spares if need be or re-build it in the future.

So, has anyone got a 652cc air-cooled engine in decent nick that I can buy?

Thanks.
