Leaky Windscreen
« on: March 20, 2017, 10:05:48 PM »
Hi all,

So recently my Skoda Fabia had a little bump... at 40mph.. with an Audi A3.

And its been written off, so short term my 126 is becoming a daily again.

The windscreen is leaking on the bottom corners, and I know its a common thing, I just wondered if anyone has done anything to stop the leaks?

There are drains in the later 126's in either side of the screen. Not sure if they're fitted to the early ones. Worth checking though:

Hi all.

When I painted mine, I welded pipes of about 10mm outside diameter  on both front and rear window. Once and forever. At that time it was impossible to find new drains.

Mine did this, it was getting between the glass and the rubber and making its way too the inside of the window so i sealed the rubber to the windscreen on the outside with sikaflex 512 that bought for a Job on the motorhome and that cured it lol  :)

I welded all my drain holes up and am going to seal it with sikaflex. No way it'll leak ever again. 😁

I did this trick after someone told me about it and i can see why, its hard work getting it to come out cold, warming it first is a great tip  :good:
