I pulled the dizzy too bits and under the bottom plate there are slots where the threads that hold the points too the top plate are.
I used one of the standard original holes for one side but i drilled it and used a machine thread screw and nut,the other hole never lined up where i wanted it so drilled another in the right place and used a machine thread and nut again.

The heads of the machine bolts i used were small but the heads sit in the slot on the base plate (i put them in from the bottom) so for the new hole i drilled i had too in large the ready made slot in the base place too allow the advance too work  :)

Could you give me a list or parts needed to convert a dizzy and maybe some links? I will have someone make it up for me. Cheers

Yes no problem.

The fiat can have a little break while the gritters are on the roads and i wont be using it everyday now so on a warmish dry day i will fit it and once i know it works i will post up how i did it  :good:

Cheers

I have looked at the AccuSpark unit and they sound very good but I cannot for the life in me get my head round how you time it up initially without the points to open or close

I understand that it will need to be set with a timing light once running

If you get someone to crank the engine while you swing the dist' until it fires and go from there with the timing gun :D

Gutted

I thought i would fit the kit before work today and in rushing to try and finish it i had the wires connected the wrong way and i think ive fried the AccuSpark unit :rant

it was sparking when i tried it but i could not get it to fire, i thought i just had the timing wrong so kept trying.
Now i have no spark and thats when i realized i had the wires wrong.

So pi***d off with myself now  :(

:( Not good news but it happens to the best of us at times, put it down to experience and get another unit

I fried a £750 ECU on a de-icer last week   :o
