Okay, ive had a response from GAZ Shocks , here's the email:

Good Morning Dan,

We do manufacture a kit for the Fiat 126 the front is Gp6-5289 and the rears are Gp6-5290 they are 2’1/4” coilovers with adjustable damping and they retail at £80.26 each and the springs are an additional £22 each all prices + carriage & VAT.
If a few members would like to get together to buy some dampers I can arrange a discount on the dampers for you, please note that all dampers are manufactured to order and our current lead times are 3-4 weeks.

Best Regards
Byron

The alternative is these guys who do the Z-Cars Fiat 500 Coilovers, they quoted me £100 each.

www.shocktec.co.uk

I've just never got around to sorting my suspension out.

Very kind of them to add a discount for a bundle  :D i'd be buying two for now as I need to locate an independent front cross member (not sure they're available on their own).

As for the bundle itself, as i'm only 19, in full time education and have a steady 11 hour/week job, I wouldn't be able to afford to buy all and sell on... I may have to inquire further to see if they could sell to us separately while still allowing the discount  ::) I think 'll do that now!

that also sounds good, so ill bare in mind, just as i'm on a very tight budget I think any money saved is well worth it  :P

I believe so! i think its quite a rare chance someone whose not on here would even know of these  :P

I have a few more question to ask about setups and things alike, so I'll ask about that just to be sure as well  :)

I've got the full coilover setup in my car. Its the ricambio one. I've not driven the car with them in yet so i can give any feed back on them.

I will tell you one thing though, there is a fair bit of modification in the rear to make coilovers fit. I did it with a die grinder but im sure others will have different methods. You need to remove a fair bit of metal around the hole where the shock goes up into the bottom of the back seat. I wish i had a pic but atm i dont. If you dont do this the coilovers will not go into place properly and if they do they get caught and wont work properly.
Its actually easy to fix but took me a bit to figure out cause i've never mucked around with the suspension on a 126 before.

Did anyone purchase any GAZ coil over shocks, I'm wondering if they are hight adjustable.

Lowering springs and some stiff shocks may be a cheaper idea and there's plenty of choice

Not just yet, ive ran into many more important things to make the coilovers viable as the stresses on the surrounding body will increase...

I still intend on buying, Uni maintenance loan may come in handy come September  ;D

Will be very interested to know you get on with your new coil over shocks as I'm thinking of fitting them. I Wondering what set up you have with your front suspension, I've heard that some of the front wishbones don't work with disc brakes.

Ill be sure to give my oppinion on the kit as soon as i fit it, as for the setup i have; its pretty much standard! Drum brakes on the front which i have given a clean up and i'll be buying the replacement subframe cross member thing to replace the leaf

My only problem being that i have very limited funds, im contacting fabrication companies to see if they can make one for cheaper than around £250 (which is the cheapest i have found so far)
Not mich detail but ill expand on this when i can

Dan :P

danny if you have a drum brake set up you can buy mine as its fowling because of the disks and i will have to buy the set up with the narrow arms that work with disks....

So the coilovers came the other day and I have fitted all four without any notable difficulty...! The rear end popped straight in when i disconnected the drive shafts and the front end required re attaching the leafspring in order to jack the sides up without the drum moving in some unwanted direction.

The kit is fantastic quality and there appears to be no fouling anywhere which is a bonus! I havent yet put the car back on its wheels as I need one last part to complete! Which Stuey is very kindly doing me a deal on!  :D
If anyone has instagram, there are a few pics on there, my account is @danpancho  :P

Ordered myself a set, was charged only a tiny bit more than the original quote! .-.
Their postage charges aren't ridiculous either ;D
Just waiting for them to arrive now, was estimated around 4 weeks until they arrive :)
Spring rates are in my invoice picture to follow :)

Right so im having a little trouble with my rear coilovers... no matter what i do the rear end is compressing the coils down to the bump stops, the damping is at its stiffest setting and i have been raising the ride height trying to get the car off the bump stops

One side for some reason is also lower than the other even though i have raised both sides by the same number of threads

If anyone knowss anything, please help me,
Hopefully the knowledge of the forum will solve my dilemma  :P

This may be a silly question, but as the front and rear are different lengths have you installed the front on the front and rear on the rear? I know silly question.

any ideas are appreciated! you've definitely got me thinking  :P

now that you have said this you have really got me thinking! im sure i made triple checks to make sure i put them in the correct places, but now i just dont know anymore!

I have just looked at the invoice from the company and one set is a 7" x 200lb rating and the other set is 8" x 150lb rating, would i be right to assume the pair capable of a heavier load to be the rear end ones? because of rear mount engine n all that

it also says the coilovers are labelled with front and rear so im going to have to check! hopefully the markings havent rubbed off!

I’m sure you can put the dampers from the rear off aircooled on lowered front suspension set ups. So that would fit, the 7” with the heavier rated springs on the rear.

thanks for your help!

Hello, yes I believe I have! turns out that i had put them in the wrong way round... must've mixed up the boxes while installing!

i have had to raise the rear ride height substantially compared to the front in order to compensate for the weight difference (as the coils compress much more on the rear) and the damping on front and rear is sent relatively soft and the ride quality is fantastic! It takes a little time to make it right and i dont think mine is perfect yet, but would definitely recommend these coilovers!

ps dont forget to mention the club when enquiring, as they might still accept the group discount they initially provided!
