Chris,Knew you could'nt resist.Well done sir.Chris find out when it was built at the factory because if it was built before the 31st of December 1972 it gets free tax. Before anyone jumps on me it goes by build date not registration date. :lol:I had to weld a repair on my sill Chris just cut the rot out and weld in the repair (use a 1mm thick cutting disc)like a knife through butter.

thats super m8, Paul i was thinking the same myself if it was first registered date of build date. David told me the cut off date was 1972.

the first registered date was 01/11/1973 i dont think anywhere built in 1972 for UK use? i will find out from DVLA.

1mm cutting disc? im going to go for one of those little section they are only a few pounds.

thanks Paul

Chris I think you will first need to contact FIAT UK.Tell them what your looking for (don't worry you'll not be the first to ask). There is a good chance it was built in 72',the o6' Jag's we are getting through now were built in May last year!

Jo from the Fiat club has an early 1973 model, it was an ex Fiat car never sold to the public, and hers is a 73 build. Been away on hols, nice one chris getting that car. Sell the BIS mate, the aircooleds are appreciating in value and rarity and your FSM is very similar in appearance to a BIS anyway... if you sell the FSM I am sure sooner or later you will regret it.
1987 Fiat 126 FSM, alloys, clear lights, Polish tat accessories... love it!

Well done on getting the car Chris. Shame its so old though. It'll look great when you've got that crappy 594cc engine engine swapped out, some decent alloys on it and a proper paint job. I reckon its time someone did a Dukes of Hazard scheme on a 126 and this looks to be the car, especially if you drop the suspension. Though as its so old  I bet you go for Starsky and Hutch. Now that would look cool.

Then all you will need is a seven ft sword fish poking out your bonnet, would look better than a jag emblem and bigger.    :D  :D

I hope you guys are kidding to modify, customise a 73 126
The only way to go for this one is original as possible.
I found a picture of one of the original UK press cars it's a L reg, wonder if it's still around?

Cars are you trying to start another fight

I agree keep it original!! I'm collecting early chrome for my 1984 to make it look older,Bumpers, wipers, mirrors. found early black leather seats and new early black dash and door cards.

Very early 70s are getting hard to find.

Don't panic it won't get tuned, I'm sure :x  :???:
